To the Land Down Under
Hello Everyone!
I still can't believe this is actually happening, but Justin & I are 2 weeks away from heading to Australia and New Zealand for a little over four months (!!!!!!!)
I give full credit to Justin for coming up with this idea... as we are able to go for this amount of time by working on our company while we are down there. Our first dream has always been building our company (well since we met in 2008), but our second I would say is to travel. Why not combine the two? I compare this type of trip more to studying abroad than backpacking, but falls somewhere in between.
And yes, working from there means we are packing up our monitors (3 to be exact... hey at least Justin is leaving one at home for the trip :) ), so we will by no means be traveling light. But, we will be packing efficiently in terms of clothing / gear / shoes. For those interested, I will be posting my packing list for the trip in my next blog! I have read several of these and find them fascinating... may not be for everyone though :)
So where exactly are we going?? I will be posting about each place specifically as we go, but this is the general path we will follow (obviously not driving this whole time... Australia is big haha... taking planes, buses, ferries, etc):
Australia (3 months):

New Zealand (~ 1 month, this path isn't completely decided yet):

Our first stop will be Cairns, known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and located in tropical Queensland. Here we will go on a 3 day liveaboard to dive the outer reefs of the GBR and maybe see a shark or two :) We will be in Cairns for 2 weeks so I'll have lots of updates on this city.
Also, special shout out to our bestie CHRISTOPHER who will be joining us for over 2 weeks for Christmas / New Years !!! Can't wait to see you on the other side of the world !!
I'll be keeping this blog throughout the trip to keep family and friends up to date, as well as to be my travel journal. For now, I leave you with this song, thanks to my parental units for playing it for me....

p.s: I apologize in advance for grammar mistakes... as a former analyst / current 3D artist... let's just say I haven't had to write very frequently :)
